New info for bankers on energy efficiency finance

December 12, 2013

IIP has developed two new publications for bankers to help them mainstream energy efficiency finance into everyday operations.

Industrial energy efficiency projects are new business opportunities for banks, but many fail to capitalize on those opportunities because of a lack of information about how to evaluate the investments.

To help bankers, we’ve developed some FAQs with vital information on how to start an energy efficiency financing program, how to treat loan applications, examples of transactions, links to best practice cost databases and other tools.

We’ve also developed a case study on how the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) integrated energy efficiency considerations into its standard industrial lending practices. Through this process, EBRD was able to increase its revenue, improve relationships with customers, build an environmentally-aware brand, and satisfy regulators and other government agencies.
