Our collection of financing mechanisms offers practitioners from government, finance, and industry best practice case studies and useful information from around the world on to adapt lending practices to the needs of energy efficiency projects
An Industrial Efficiency Financing Database of over 50 financing mechansisms from around the world is now available
This project aims to catalogue the most effective financial programs, products, and mechanisms to leverage public and private funding in support of industrial energy efficiency (EE) and carbon mitigation investments, and to identify which, if any, could be characterized as best practices, and by what criteria. A report covers these issues and also identifies issues that have been confronted by program developers and implementers and draws overall lessons and recommendations from these programs, at a macro level. It is hoped that the lessons drawn from the experiences on the studied programs will provide valuable input to governments, development financial institutions (DFI) and other stakeholders as they design and implement future industrial EE programs.
Eight financial mechanisms that met the report's best practice criteria are accessible through the Resources section below.
